The Elmira Street Painting Festival is a unique opportunity to share your artwork with a large audience and to express your creativity in a celebration of art by and for the community. In the heart of Elmira’s downtown, asphalt becomes canvas and the street itself transforms into a gallery. Artists create artwork on the street using chalk pastels as festival attendees watch the temporary masterpieces unfold.
The Elmira Street Painting Festival (ESPF) is open to all artists and there is no application fee. ESPF will take place Saturday, July 9, from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm and Sunday, July 10, from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. The festival is free and open to the public and features the street painters along with music, dance, craft show, children’s’ activities and local food vendors. Over 4000 visitors have attended the ESPF in years past, and with an expanded Chalk It Up program and special musical guests The Town Pants, we expect even more this year!
